HOW TO USE THE FINS
◆ Please do not walk with the fins. You may damage them. Walking backwards or sideway walk works
◆ Please make sure the fins are tightened well using both straps
◆ In the water, have your legs straight, and move them slowly and widely
HOW TO USE THE MASK
◆ You shouldn’t have any front hair in the mask otherwise water will get in
◆ Both straps should have the same length
◆ The back strap of the mask should be located on the upper part of your head
HOW TO USE THE SNORKEL
◆ Breathe slowly and deeply with your mouth
◆ Never breathe with your nose
◆ If water comes in your mouth, breathe out strongly few times to get the water out. If you feel unconfortable take the snorkel out of your mouth.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

◆ Please do not leave the mask, the snorkel and fins directly on the sand. The sand goes inside the straps and silicon parts, and damages the gear.
◆ Do not walk on the coral or do not hit the coral with you fins, you would damage it and it may die.
◆ Do not touch any shell or any aquatic specimen you don’t know. Some are venomous and danger of death.
PREPARE ANTI-MIST BEFORE GOING SNORKELING

◆ The most efficient: buy anti-mist from the Internet, or at a diving gear shop dowtown.
◆ The home-made way: make a spray of dish soap mixed with water. Soft baby shampoo mix works too.
◆ The natural way: in Ishigaki you will easily find velvetleaf soldierbush tree/veloutier (photo) at the beach. Children in Ishigaki learn at school about the anti-mist agents of its leaves. Just crush one leave in your hand and wipe the inside part of your mask with it. Slimy seaweeds work too.
◆ The diver way: spit in your mask/use your saliva.
Always spread the anti-mist in your mask before rinsing in the ocean. Wear the mask immediately and avoid taking it off to avoid misting.
※ Do not go snorkeling if you are in bad physical state
※ Do not swim during, before and after a typhon, when it's too windy and too wavy
※At spring tide and at high tide be twice more carefuly
※ Do not go snorkeling alone
※ Wear a snorkeling life jacket / use a life jacket as a float / take a buoy with you
※Use fins
※ Look well the signboards or the information mentioning possible dangers at the beach
※Be careful with rip currents. If you can't come back, do not swim against the current, swim out by the side
